The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2007. The department offers a four year degree program BE- Electrical and Electronics Engineering with an intake of 120 students.
It has good infrastructural facilities which include Electrical Machines, Power Electronics & Drives, Measurements and Instrumentation, Power system simulation and Special Electrical Machines Laboratory. The Department laboratories are equipped with the latest machinery and equipment and latest computer hardware and software.
The Department has well qualified and dedicated faculty members in various specialized areas of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Empowering and enhancing the students into future leaders to meet the challenges of modern industrial society by equipping them with contemporary knowledge of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
The graduates will be able to
The graduates shall have
Engineering Graduates will be able to:
The Electrical Machines laboratory has imparts the knowledge about characteristics and behavior of the DC and AC Machines. Well established with all kinds of motors, generators and latest Drives. This is the core lab for the Electrical Engineering branch and the ancillary for ECE and Mechanical branches.
Electric Circuits laboratory helps the students regarding the investigation of Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Laws, voltage and current division, mesh and nodal analysis, Thevenin and Norton equivalents, superposition, simple RL, RC, RLC circuits, phasors. Use of voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters and oscilloscopes. Identification of unknown elements.
The Electron Devices and Circuits laboratory consists of different basic electronic devices like BJT, JFET, MOSFET, SCR, TRIAC, DIAC, Photo Diode & Transistors, etc., for conducting experiments relevant to electrical and electronic devices and circuits. This lab is adequately equipped with major devices for signal generation like function generators, signal generators and measuring devices like Cathode Ray Oscilloscope (CRO), voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeter’s, millimeters etc., There are sufficient working tables with phase supply connections are available for conducting the experiments.
The Control Systems Laboratory provides facilities for the students to do experiments for the non-ideal conditions that are often present in real-world applications. The lab has DC & AC machine speed control, Stepper motor speed control, AC Servo Motor control, Phase lead and lag compensator, AC and DC position control trainer and PID controller kit. It is also integrated with system, that has MATLAB and SIMULINK design tools, which can be used to design control systems that can then be implemented in the hardware.
Instrumentation laboratory helps the students to get a work experience of Measuring different Physical, Mechanical, Electrical and Optical quantities by using various Instruments such as Transducers, Sensors , Electrical and Electronic instruments. This laboratory gives an industrial exposure of monitoring a process or a operation by using an instrument.
The Engineering Practice laboratory imparts the knowledge about electrical measuring instruments and Measurement of electrical quantities – voltage, current, energy, power & power factor in electric circuits. This lab gives knowledge about measuring earth resistance, house wiring using switches, fuse, energy meter, indicator, and lamp.
The Power Electronics laboratory consists of different kinds of demo kits such as SCR characteristics, study kit for D.C motor control using chopper. The lab is equipped with all the power electronic converters, DSP and FPGA based DC and AC Drives, Digital Integrated kits, Power supplies etc, and with MATLAB and PSIM simulation software’s are available to perform simulation of power electronics circuits.
Micro Processor & Micro Controller Laboratory provides opportunity to the students to operate and apply the equipments and instruments for the development of the software and hardware of 8085 microprocessor. In the laboratory, there are 8085 microprocessor and 8051 microcontroller programmer kits, and interfacing devices such as ADC, DAC, stepper motor controller, traffic light controller, LED display interface and Keyboard interface devices.
